“We Are What We Eat”
-
I was invited to perform for one of my favorite artists Laurie Shapiro at her closing party for her installation “ The Glendale Alteria”. Here some of my favorite clips from my one time performance “We Are What We Eat”
>>> In this performance, a young ego-driven woman is coming up to the installation from shopping at Bloomingdales. She is talking obnoxiously on the phone with her friend as she is eating processed food. She goes to the art installation because she “has” to for an art school project her mommy is paying for and she realizes that even though she’s been eating the whole time, she still feels”hungry”. She finds an apple on the ground and begins to chew despite just eating chips etc. She begins to breathe into her body after the apple and then hears ethereal voices coming from the apple “We are all connected to each other through nature we are one”
The scene then cuts into the musician Lido’s-Murder. Here she has a battle with her ego and her soul who is telling her that’s shes basically murdering herself with what she’s eating. “You are going to murder me”. As her ego dances with a 711 Slurpee cup there is a battle of pulling it towards her for comfort and fear of change. She’s pushing it away because deep inside she knows the liquid is killing her and causing her to disconnect from her Goddess. Throughout the performance, as the songs change so does she. The more raw fruit she eats, the more she grounds destroying her ego and reclaiming her Goddess.

Sea of Emotions -The Live Performance
Live 5.04.2023
Wow, to getting asked to stop my guerrilla performance I’d this at the @theotherartfair to doing a full production at @something_poetic_ with a fantastic turn out and great reviews, “putting yourself out there“really does work for some of us.
As usual I had to shut everything out and worked up to the Show to transform my script into reality which took sewing by hand, creating and practicing choreography at the gym, rehearsal, creating the costume, performing for projection, prepping merch, carefully selecting each item I needed on public transportation, creating the artsy projection, sound effects and voice over.
Multi-media performance is a labor of love but worth it to tell a story of feeling like I’m too much. Some people shut others out. They move to their little snack island so they can be free but luckily for me there’s little instances like the mushroom being that bring me back to the present moment and give me a boost of confidence reminding me to Own my shit and it’s not always that I am too much, it’s that they are not enough. This has been a hard affirmation for me to accept with my guilt ridden heart.
In the performance each emotion is connected to a color Green (Joy) Blue (Sad) Red (Anger).
Each emotion was displayed with an emotive portrait on my skirt that turned to match the song playing. Each song was carefully chosen to match the emotion being displayed. I was to put the “own it” arrow I received from the mushroom man on each strip of Velcro on the skirt by each emotion to further display what emotion I was delivering but accidentally chucked it performing and it made its way off stage so I couldn’t put it on my shirt when I remembered 😅. This was one of the many improvements attempted after the failed guerrilla performance , oh well that’s the beauty of performance art I guess.

When you and your squad pull up to da club…..
……….
-MIND ESCAPE-
I heard @th3w0rml33t was going to try and bait me by using @nitrisinferno and dragging her to the next gate opening.
I’m not happy about it. I’ve held my power and rage in so long I’m afraid it might consume me whole if I don’t get it under control.
@isasgottaholdonyou ‘s been doing a job keeping me cool and collected I know she right when she says we need to wait until he’s vulnerable and we retrieve all the needed data to take him down.
So the choice is mine, do I go and try to retrieve her DTLA even though I know this pathetic trap or do I stay proceed in my barrier making him sweat and slip up even more.
Time will tell…..
I’ll keep you in the know,
Xoxo

Oct. 27, 2022, I was invited to perform for one of my favorite artists Laurie Shapiro at her closing party for her installation " The Glendale Alteria".
Here are some of my favorite clips from the evening taken by fellow artist Insta @itsmeyour_x
This was a very special performance because I helped install the work the day before I left for Berlin to study performance art at Eden Studios with the Ostrenko Brothers. This is the first performance since my training in August 2022.
Laurie and I both have a deep passion for vegan food, and both have recently been eating more raw foods. There is a spiritual connection and groundedness that happens when you eat pure foods from the Earth.
I noticed my ego, mood, and overall physical feeling were altered negatively by these over-processed foods, gluten, unnatural sugars, and caffeine. I was disassociating my stress and traumas into these comfort points to the point it disconnected me from my Goddess.
I really wanted to create a story that both Laurie and I could relate to and both had our message statements in it. With dedicating everything I could to this performance, hours of practice, costuming, writing, etc- I can say that I am very proud of what I achieved and this is the most present I have ever been in my body during a performance in my life.
Laurie and I had an artists' weekend about a week before this performance where we glamped on some beautiful land then attended a traditional native sweatlodge the morning after. I knew it was important to involve some of what we learned together in the performance. I ended the performance with an "Ahoy" (sp) which means "End". This is what we said at the sweat lodge after our prayers were released as I crawled on my hands and knees out into the new world of presentness. In the lodge, we crawled on our hands and knees in and out of the tent to represent humbleness. My character was completely humbled and enlightened as she reunited with her Goddess.
Re-connecting to my Goddess has been a journey since about 2012, and a reappearing theme in my body of work since it's a big part of my current lifetime.
I started my raw journey in September 2022, and as I recover B.E.D. I practice this lifestyle with mindfulness listening to my body if I am cooked and want a warm drink or some cooked food without guilt. I am finding a happy medium in the choices I make regarding eating. If there is a time when I can handle being 100% Raw Vegan, I will embrace it with open arms. For now, I am enjoying this feeling of lightness and gratitude.
Thank you to the City of Glendale, Glendale Galleria and of course Laurie Shapiro for having me.
Thank you for watching! Please remember to Like, Comment and Subscribe for full "Contamination".
Xoxo,

-With friends Corey Story and Violinist BAKA
*************
And then I decided to not fight it any longer, to embrace my loneliness and dance with my darkness….
**************
Whenever I write any type of performance I like to leave a raw segment mixed in with the rehearsed and choreographed parts.
Viiolinistbaka and I are becoming experts to reading eachothers energy. This isn’t our first impromptu boogie and I am quite sure it’s not our last.
In practice a vibe is set to match an overall emotion and from there it’s raw. We then feed on each other creating something specifically for that moment in time. Every environment, the people, the day, bring a different flavor for us to channel. Here is the flavor of Aug 29 2021 at the Nomad Art Fair.
There’s a really intense part when my roommate had terrible timing to zoom in on. It’s when Thiandra picks up her larvae, cradles it then stomps it in horror.
That part represents my fear of not being able to have a child and family in time due to my root chakra block. Shes stomping on her larvae because with no king she will have no children. Real tears fled my cheeks as this is a real fear and struggle I have been trying to overcome.
It’s those beautiful self reflections that Violinistbaka’s hauntingly beautiful melodies being out vulnerably to the crowd.
As she is the representation of a dark entity that feeds off my negative thoughts , it is no surprise that this is live shadow work in the flesh.
Shout out to Core Storey and his intense hypnotic freak dance. Fuck yeah this is art!
