Performance

Please enjoy these little snippets of performance examples since unfortunately we were supposed to receive proper footage of each of these performances but didn’t. But this gives you a small taste of what Candy has been up to lately performance-wise.

Art Battle L.A. Wisdome, DTLA 4.22

  • On May 11th, 2022 #1 The Contaminator assigned Crew Member #3 Cotton Candy to “display her cray” at Art Battle Los Angeles an art competition hosted by Wisdome.

She did not get to the next round, but her display was a reminder that our entire career is a performance and the art is just a souvenir of the experience.

The Contaminator Crew, a living art experience.

Tell me, what do you feel when this numbed-out unicorn obnoxiously wiggles without a care in a world? When her clothes cling on awkwardly her skin sags from doctors abusing psychiatric diagnosis and body deformation from adverse effects bounces around unapologetically from her chest?

What are you inspired to do after you are re-learning that forced guilt from a slave-driving society that profits off its citizens work ethic is a cleverly accepted way of thinking preventing you from playing at a certain age as your soul craves?

When she is done playing, she has all her essential needs to live. She isn’t starving, dehydrated, lacking shelter because she rolled around in platform boots and snorted glitter through her nose. She’s alive, more than most people hiding behind a life paved before them.

One of the goals of The Contaminator Crew is to publicly display a safe place of self-expression to the fullest measures. Shutting down this dark energy forcing us to lose our inner child.

Don’t leave that kid behind. There’s a time and a place to let them run free but to shut them out completely is to cage the soul.

    Won’t you play with us?

The Jester’s Last Performance DTLA 4.22 The Hive Gallery

  • “The Jester’s Last Performance” which was a prequel to the painting of what event happened between her and the King that led to her escaping the castle due to the un-appreciation towards her innovative approach to art.

After time traveling to the future then going back to the King (Yamz) to present ELECTRIC MUSIC and performing a very ahead of her time performance the King sat there unamused claiming “It was very…electric”.

At complete and utter shock of the unappreciation of her amazing talents The Jester tells him he can take that job and shove it. As soon as he orders her beheadedment she exits the kingdom saying “I’m GONG THY WAY.” Then just like that, she teleports into another dimension where she can be free. (This is showcased in the The Contaminator’s painting “The Jester’s Last Performance”)

Candy’s Coffee Shop, Performative Pop-Ups,L.A. Dance Shorts Film Fest,(From Practice)

Los Angeles-11.21

  • Opening for The L.A. Shorts Film Fest at Paper or Plastik Cafe, Candy sits at her lil’ cafe reading her pamphlet (upside down) while nonchalantly tossing play-balls at the audience. The song Coffee by: Jack Stauber’s Micropop suddenly fills the air and Candy is demonstrating her frustration of not being jacked up with caffeine. After her little quirky frustrated gestured number, the songs turns into “The Bakery” by Melanie Martinez. Candy by now has gotten up, taken off her giant pink trench coat releasing her wild donut top and play-ball skirt created by Deliliah for the event. She breaks it down then finishes by crawling behind the curtain. Yay.
