Paintings

When The Contaminator picks up her brush it’s time to relax. A very different (and less anxious) art process than oil sticks, glazing into the high pigments of professional watercolor is a therapy. The Contaminator can be spotted around at cafes while in town and out of town with a cappuccino or latte of some sort dipping a vegan croissant in her foam as her mind expands into trance, the liquid glazing over the paper as the days stress melts away. Using the paintbrush to draw as she would with pastels, she displays her own unique flavor with the medium. The watercolor versions of her work are not nearly as powerful emotionally, but it’s a reminder that we don’t have to be “Full Contaminator” all the time. It’s OK to rest and actually enjoy creating art without putting on any type of show or completing a deadline. Painting has become a reset for The Contaminator, when she often states how she doesn’t consider herself a painter due to not being trained as one, I think we can see that despite her humbling disposition she knows what she’s doing when it comes to watercolor. Now acrylic on the other hand….. “Yeah, hard pass.”
